A snap.
A scream.
Those were the last sounds he heard and his mind began to reel. Suddenly, everything looked foggy, and sounds seemed like they were millions of miles away. He felt as if he was in a bubble, the ends of his fingers going numb, as he turned to see her fall. It had been a routine night, nothing major, but something was destined to go wrong. They had made their way into the jewelry store easy enough, and managed to bypass security easily. They were making their escape when she decided to take the shortcut, pulling her brother along the rooftops as they made their way through the maze of the city. They had even been close to their apartment, and begun to reach ground level. In fact, he had been on the ground, when the unthinkable happened. His sister's heel had gotten caught, and she had easily managed to get out while regaining her balance. That balance continued with her all the way to the ground.
Liam easily broke her leg.
Liam.
His indestructible twin sister.
Things seemed to slow down for a minute. There was no possible way that she could still stand, and she drifted down to her knees, her palms planted in the ground as she screamed. This had never happened. He had never seen her this way, and his mind practically went into shock. He stood still for a very long time, before he knew that he had to help. He couldn't just leave her there, but he couldn't afford to stay with her on the ground. Someone could easily discover them, and not only would Liam have gone down, they would be arrested. Being unable to run, they wouldn't have been able to escape, and it would be a mess that Spencer didn't think he could handle. This was bad enough.
He had quickly bent down to scoop up his sister. He could feel her muscles tense as he lifted her up, he could see the crinkle in her brow as she bit back a sob. This was unlike anything he had ever encountered with his sister, something like this had never happened to them in nineteen years. He managed carry her easily enough, his blurry mind barely able to register street signs as the red fog hovered over his hands that kept the pair invisible to the people walking nearby. Somewhere along the way, his sister blacked out. This was almost too much for him, but somehow, he managed to find his way to the hospital. The only place he felt would be able to help, after all, he had no experience with injuries.
Spencer had managed to get inside the automatic doors, unseen to the human eye, and remove some of his more obvious accessories. Once the basics were out of sight, he carried Liam to the emergency room wing, and signed out the needed paperwork. The nurse assured him that yes, everything would be okay. Not that he believed her entirely, but it was her job to make him feel better. He was positive countless crying family members had come through and she had to be just as optimistic with them. As soon as Liam was at a point where her twin could no longer see her, Spencer had quickly made a stop back at the apartment to change into a green sweater and jeans.
He now sat in the waiting room, two hours later, his head in his hands. It was obvious he was upset, but what could he do? He could have snuck in to see her, but a doctor had already come out to say that her bones were being set and that as soon as she woke up, Spencer would be alerted. The only thing he could do was to wait.
So wait he did.
Andrew Spencer Delacroix had never felt so alone.

Serenity looked up from the files she was reading and glanced over to the brunette sitting with a worried look on his face. Of course she didn't think twice about having a villain in the hospital, not when he had such a look of fear on his face. "Liam in trouble," she muttered to the dove quietly as she put down the death certificates and walked over to where Spencer was sitting, "She'll be ok you know." she said with a smile.
Liam would get over this injury of that she had no doubt, that girl had tendencies of a rubber band. Always strong and willing to bounce back. She had admired it in the other girl. To the point where she had mentioned it to the dead dove beside her and surprisingly enough the dove had agreed. Not that Spencer even knew of Sorina's existence but the dove still liked keeping her theories to herself.

He looked up, eyes slightly wide. He knew that voice. It was the girl he had run into at the Roundhouse, the blonde that Liam had kept talking to. He frowned slightly. Normally, he probably would have freaked out if he had been recognized, but this was different. It was the hospital. Anybody who went to the hospital and arrested someone there had some serious issues. Not to mention the fact that the last time he had seen Serenity, she had been neutral and spouting about the future to his sister. Was she telling the truth? As minor as the injury may have been, he didn't think he'd ever see a day when Liam was frail and needed his help. She was always the better twin when it came to the powers, and she had been saving him for years.
"Probably." He smiled slightly, a hard edge hidden somewhere in it. "It just makes me feel so useless. We're a team." Spencer shook his head slowly, his hands moving to clutch his knees to prevent them from shaking. He couldn't remember the last time he was so afraid for someone or something. Not even being offered deals by robots freaked him out as much as his sister in trouble. "She's never broken anything. Ever. She sprained her ankle a while ago, when we were kids, but it's not quite the same. I don't know what we're going to do."
He sighed softly as he glanced at a clock on the wall. 3:22 in the morning. This was insanity. He was certain that he would have been able to sneak around to check on her with his abilities, but there was something he didn't quite like about that. After all, the fact that he was in a hospital made him feel like he shouldn't be doing anything illegal. He doubted that catching several shots of various surgeries would hardly be considered ethical, and it probably would have only worsened his mood beyond the red, sore eyes and the nervous appearance. He glanced to the nurse's desk for a moment as the same doctor from earlier came out to tell her something, before calling him as 'Mr. Delacroix' and walking over to speak in a tone that was only mildly concerned.
"She's going to be just fine when she wakes up, which we are assuming to happen very soon. However, we want to keep her here for twenty-four hours for... observation."

The lights of the ambulance were blinking wildly. Flashing like strobes as they danced in their little cases upon the rooftops, the red and white and blue consistent with each other. Had it not been for the explosion a few hours ago, Jazz would never have been in the situation. No, she would’ve been fine and well, unharmed and having not a speck of dirt on her person. Yet she lay inside the ambulance, her figure trembling; her body pale. She was bleeding heavily from the open wounds in her leg. Her mouth was gaped, the oxygen mask breathing for her. Her heart was racing, pounding in her head. Her ears were ringing like a nonstop telephone. Her fingers twitched as she tried to get the IV out of her arm, yet the people wouldn’t let her.
No, the tried to calm her, soothe her, pacify her trembling body as she wiggled in their grasp.
Oh, the horror of being a Super!
The blonde-haired female thrashed upon the table, wiggling, squirming like a pitiful worm. They were aggravated, trying terribly hard to soothe her. Yet, nothing seemed to work. “Get the IV and start the anesthetic. Now!” t was all a blur from there, as her eyes begin to shut slowly. Yet she tried to force them open, her mouth closing; her body unmoving. Sweat beaded her forehead, her arms, her entire body. The ambulance drove swiftly down the road. The hospital was getting closer.
Closer.
Closer…
“Get her to a room, now!” The dark-skinned man ordered, rushing her down the hall, and through the waiting room. Nurses gathered around, taking her file and examining her eyes, throat, and ears. Their cold stethoscope touched her chest. Her eyes had shot open by the cold touch, her heart no longer passive in her chest. Once more she began to squirm, questioning slurred words. She wanted out of the bonds, out of this hell hole. Her eyes shot towards the brunette boy, blue eyes wide. She had managed to get her fingers around that oxygen mask, pulling it down.
“Get me out of here… I’m fine!”

The place seemed to be teeming with danger this particular night, and it only seemed to grow as another ambulance pulled up. There was a flurry as technicians and whatnot scurried to receive the stretcher, prepared for the worst, as usual with ambulances. He was mildly surprised when the figure was obviously a young woman, but with Serenity near him and Liam in a hospital room somewhere, he dropped that thought. He continued to watch as she began to raise a scene, obviously opposed to the IVs, and even began shouting.
Spencer wanted to help.
He'd seen several of the facial expressions when people just needed to get away. This one was no different, and he cast a look at Serenity. "Hold on, I'll be back. Don't stop me unless it results in me getting in quite a bit of trouble. Actually - don't stop me. I can't take this." He was about to do something completely stupid, he knew, but anything would have been better than sitting around and worrying about his twin. After all, two people had claimed she would be fine, and it wasn't like she had been shot or anything. He knew that things could have ended a lot differently, and that things could have ended in a way that wouldn't leave both of them in a hospital.
He had made his way over towards the hallway to the restroom, when his hands began to glow. He slowly faded until he was unseen to the human eye, much like he had been on his voyage over. Spencer quickly snuck out, glancing around. Had he known of Sorina's existence, the dove probably would have been able to see him, but he knew that most people wouldn't. He managed to follow as the girl with the Superman shirt was wheeled into a specific room to be diagnosed. He slipped soundlessly into the room, moving closer until he could speak in a whisper around the physicians.
"You can't see me, but I can help you get out."
He would have proposed some sort of deal had he known who she was. Had he known who she was, he probably would have requested some sort of truce that gave him invincibility if the two ever encountered each other on the job. After all, it wasn't often that the young thief would have normally helped anybody, yet alone a Titan. After all, that was something his sister would have done, and with her unresponsive, he felt that he needed to somehow become a better villain.

Jazz’s eyes widened slightly as she scanned the room, nodding slightly as the nurses and the doctor slipped her upon the bed, their hands moving about her bones, her throat. She was confused. What happened to him? She couldn’t see him – though she wished she could – and was honestly very unsure of the situation. He had taken her seriously. She wasn’t aware of him being a Super like her. Or else she was simply seeing and hearing things. Yes; after all, she had lost quite some odd amount of blood in the ambulance. She eyes had snapped towards the door, where there few of the nurses and even the doctor left, leaving only the brunette nurse inside. She had strapped another cord to her other arm, securing it tightly as she let the anesthetic do its job.
“You lost a lot of blood. We’ll be back shortly to stitch up your wound, dear.” She smiled. Her face was fat, round like a pumpkin. Her face was cheery, at least, and her chubby fingers were gentle. Yet still, the blonde heroine didn’t smile. She scoffed and snorted, turning away.
“I’m fine. How many times do I have to say things like that?” She muttered, her eyes rolling towards the ceiling.
The chubby nurse only coughed, her fingers tapping against the armrest before scooting away and out of the room. Jazz watched carefully, sliding up on the bed and sighed heavily. “So, what are you, exactly?” She whispered. “I mean, like a figment of my imagination or a Super?” She bit her lip carefully. Had she worded it correctly? She hoped so.
She was already in this hospital.
She would hate to another.

Serenity sighed and walked over through the halls of death, many people had died this day, what with the few big explosions today, the flickering of the lights didn't help. They reminded her to much of every movie horror movie in existence. That and she could hear the screams of the dead family members. The spirits of the dead wandered in and out of the rooms around the emergency rooms. Waiting for loved ones to make it through, waiting for an enemy to die, waiting for the answer to why they died. But all Waiting. This place was worse then the cemetery.
She shot a sad look to the dove next to her as she heard the wailing of a mother crying over her dieing son. Sorina didn't need instructions after that.
Serenity turned into the room Jazz was fighting to escape from with a sigh as she thanked destiny again that she had run into Sorina. She didn't know what she would do without the dove, "Yes he's super, and Jazz you need to have that stitched up." she said and gave a disapproving look to the Titan. She was beginning to understand how most of the titans thought now, they all just wanted to end the fighting with evil. Yet the line between good and evil was usually to blurred to find a truly evil soul. Like the sneak thief in the room with the Titan and the emerald eyed medium.
She readjusted the death certificates in her arm as she spoke, she was the one who would have to bring the certificates back to the tower and she didn't really need more to deal with at the moment, "It'll heal better if you let them finish." she said with a half hearted smile to both of the supers in the room.
This was one of those times she wished life was easy. [/blockquote]

Spencer smirked slightly, tugging on the end of his sweater. He would've played with that question a bit, but then Serenity answered. He glanced at the doorway, preparing himself if any doctors wandered in. Serenity had an armful of certificates, and he vaguely wondered what respect she was held to in here that allowed her to get those. Unless they were public records? He decided it would be better not to wonder anymore. "Way to ruin my fun." He paused before phrasing the details. "I'm not really invisible. You just can't... see me. It's hard to explain. I confuse the senses, if that's the easy way to say it." He shrugged, even though neither of them would see it, and bit his lip for a moment.
He paused for a moment. "My sister is somewhere in here. I couldn't stand sitting out there being worried about her." Spencer frowned slightly as he looked around, wondering where exactly Liam was. She couldn't be far, he assumed. A part of him wanted to sneak out and find her, but a part of him didn't want to see her if she was hooked up to machines for being unconscious.
He wedged a pale hand in his hair, still frowning slightly as the red haze around his hands began to dim. Slowly, he came back into view. Spencer glanced to the door, aware that anybody who walked in would be able to see him and Serenity in the room with Jazz. He shook his head. "Tonight's just been crazy. And I swear I had nothing to do with any explosion." The last part was aimed at Serenity, recalling Liam telling him that she had mentioned that she knew who they were and what they did, but wouldn't arrest him unless it harmed people. He was really starting to wonder who this other girl was, though. He'd never seen her before. Serenity knew her, but didn't Serenity know everyone?

She pursed her lips, brushing away her moistened bangs with a quick swipe.
“Party pooper.”
Jazz wasn’t to warmhearted towards Serenity. It wasn’t the fact that the other blonde-haired female was mischievous or the like, but because she always managed to Jazz’s buttons the wrong way. She was what Jazz referred to as a “know-it-al,” which clearly annoyed her more-so then her own mother with her consistent nagging and eagle-like eyes on her child. Sure, she was a troublemaker at times, but she meant every single good in her doing. She was just easily annoyed as Jazz would say.
She snorted lightly at his reference towards the explosion, giggling slightly before looking down at her leg. The blood had seeped through her pant leg, and seeing as it was getting to be no better, she pursed her lips again and moaned. She wasn’t too pleased with the fact the nurses and doctor had to staple and sew it up. And seeing as the guy next to her probably didn’t want to see it anymore then she did, Jazz turned towards the little table next to her and picke dup the needle and string.
“Okay, I’ve sewn a shirt, I think I can sew a–”
“She’s right in here, Mrs. Danvers.” The nurse was getting closer. However, it wasn’t the nurse that made her freeze.
Miss Linda Danvers.
That name was something she didn’t want to hear.

Serenity smiled up at the brunette walking through the doors. Why Jazz's aunt was visiting her now she had no idea but she wasn't about to be nasty to superman's cousin. "Hello Linda, it's an honor." she said with a smile that said she knew exactly who she was really talking to. It helped that she had access to almost everyone's file and also could see the future to boot. Although this didn't exactly seem like the best meeting to be happening now.
She threw a sympathetic gaze to Jazz, having kryptonian family couldn't have helped the girl growing up. Sometimes just knowing your mother was seemed like a very good thing. She moved from her spot by the door and would have tried to talk the girl out of sewing up her own leg most likely with a sarcastic remark to the other girl but Sorina's appearance stopped her from shooting her mouth off.
That dove really was good for something. [/blockquote]
